Quinua Bowl: tricolor blend of quinoa, roasted chiles, corn, chickpeas, pickled red onion, avocado, vegan chipotle aioli     Aster Cafe , Minneapolis, MN 55414 🌿🌿🌿 This is our restaurant next to the Minneapolis Saint Paul Film Society, The Main theater, that is the reason we go pretty often. The menu is small but delicious and nothing here is disposable, except for the paper napkins, that is why can't have the highest score. Our favorite appetizer is the Artichoke Dip, it is really delicious. All the flatbread as good as well, but I think I especially like the Wild mushroom one. The Quinoa Bowl (photo) is in my top list. The selection of beers is good, service is kind and efficient. And, you can also check on the movie theater, there is always excellent movies being screening as MSP Film Society now own the whole Main Theater.  Good food, good service, next to the movie theater to have a drink in between movies, better impossible!  Eat Green, Be Happy rating system 🌿🌿🌿🌿   4

Victor's 1959 Café

Imagen

Owamni

Imagen
Owamni , Minneapolis, MN 🌿🌿🌿🌿 Owamni by The Sioux Chef defines as a modern indigenous full service establishment. It also offers a pre colonization or decolonized food experience, which means experience the true flavors of North America, featuring foods of Mni Sota Makoce, the land where the waters reflect the clouds. You won’t find any ingredient that was brought to North America by the colonizers. Talking about meat we are referring to bison, fish and turkey but not beef or chicken. Most plates use corn but not bread, which is usually made by wheat, originally from Europe. No dairy is use, only vegetable alternative version of them.  The concept of Owamni makes food experience unique and deep in understanding how in many ways food is related with ideologies, lands and an economic system that affects societies in all levels. In that sense, this philosophy includes purchasing from indigenous producers, locally, nationally and even internationally. I was fond to see in the menu c

Mediterranea

Imagen

Asian Mall: no for me

Imagen
Veggie Spring Rolls Legendary Spice at Asian Mall, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 🌿🌿 I went to the new Asian Mall looking for trying new food. If you were there for a real meal and not for bubble tea or donuts, then you only have five options. If you are not in the mood of soup, your options reduce to three. In the soupy sections was Pho Mai and Hot Pot City, although this last one makes you cook your meal, just the opposite experience I am looking for when I go to a restaurant.  We chose Legendary Spice. Chinese Kitchen & Bar. This one was place in the second floor, in a food court style. There is a QR code you can use to order but it was not working well. Finally, a waiter approach to took our order which came one minute later, this tells us it was already cook and waiting. The water was in a glass jarr but the glasses were paper ones. The silverware was plastic and napkins were also paper ones. The hot food came in a real plate (Thank God!) and it was tasty. The price was high for wha

From Lebanon to Saint Paul

Imagen
Beirut , West Saint Paul, MN 55118 🌿🌿🌿🌿 This is one of the first restaurant I tried since I moved to Saint Paul. I have been there several times, last time with my family that visited me from Peru. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the space is small but very well decorated, there is always some music playing that transport you to the beautiful landscape of Lebanon, that you can see in the pictures around the room. There is a menu for two, one with meat and one veggie, that includes seven different plates (in the photo the veggie option), plus kebabs, rice and pita bread. It is plenty for two, so maybe you have some leftovers. I always bring my own Tupperware, just in case. I strongly recommend this place that has the complete four leaves because nothing is plastic, exception of the garlic butter that is served with the kebabs.  Eat Green, Be Happy rating system 🌿🌿🌿🌿   4 leaves: All green 🌿🌿🌿.  3 leaves: Great but you can do better 🌿🌿  2 leaves: Green by chance 🌿  1 leaf:

Chimborazo, Minneapolis, MN

Imagen
Chimborazo , Minneapolis 🌿🌿🌿🌿 I was so happy to try the food at Chimborazo, an Ecuatorian restaurant in Minneapolis. It is a small business with two rooms but the service is very good and of course, the food as well. Nothing is one use only, even the container for the leftovers is ecofriendly. I tried the veggie "saltado" that was very spicy but anyway very good. The best of everything are the "patacones" and the "salsa criolla" that come with it. I have been in Ecuador in different moments of my life and I always liked it. It is also the home country of close friends and a brother country to Peru. I visited Chimborazo after attending Cine Latino festival and watching an Ecuatorian docummentary "After they were gone," (2019) the opera prima of Veronica Haro Abril. So, Chimborazo become a place of friendship, of latino flavors, of warm memories. I want to come back already. Eat Green, Be Happy rating system 🌿🌿🌿🌿   4 leaves: All green
